Nokia Lumia 625 is a low price tag smartphone having a big screen combined with 4G LTE support. Its display resolution is low and camera is also of very high quality. Recently launched new Nokia Lumia 635 has fairly large screen with 4G support. This s the first ever smartphone to run on Windows 8.1 But how this new smartphone differs from Nokia Lumia 625? Nokia Lumia 625 vs Nokia Lumia 635

Design:

Both the smartphones, Nokia Lumia 625 and Nokia Lumia 635 are similar looking smartphones. Both the devices have bright colored plastic shells. Both are 9.2mm thick which means both are on the chunky side, not uncomfortably thick. Nokia Lumia 625  is slightly bigger with dimensions 133.3 x 72.3mm while on the other hand Nokia Lumia 635 has dimensions 129.5 x 66.7mm. Lumia 625 weighs more than Lumia 635, but this is because of the fact that Lumia 625 has slightly larger screen.

Display:

Nokia Lumia 635 has IPS LCD display of 4.5 inches with 480×854 screen resolution and 218 pixels per inch pixel density. On the other  hand Nokia Lumia 635 has IPS LCD display of 4.7 inches with 480x800p screen resolution and 199 pixels per inch pixel density. The Nokia Lumia 635 has a 4.5 inch 480 x 854 IPS LCD display with a pixel density of 218 pixels per inch. It is not that super sharp but is surely crisper than Nokia Lumia 625’s screen, though it is also slightly smaller. Keeping size and resolution aside, Nokia Lumia 635 has superior display. In this smartphone, Nokia’s Clear Black Technology is used which enhances the contrast and reduces the reflections. It uses Gorilla Glass 3 which makes it little stronger than Nokia Lumia 625’s screen which uses Gorilla Glass 2.

Processor:

Nokia Lumia 625 is powered by dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor(1.2 GHz clock) and has a RAM of 512MB while Nokia Lumia 635 is powered by quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor(1.2 GHz clock) and has same RAM as that of Lumia 625.

Camera:

Both the smartphones have 5 megapixels primary camera. The cameras of both the smartphones are adequate but are certainly on the low end of what users expect from a smartphone. Surprisingly,  Nokia Lumia 625’s camera capabilities are actually much better than Lumia 635’s in a couple of ways. Firstly Lumia 625 can shoot videos (1080p) at 30 fps while Lumia 635 can shoot 720p video. Secondly, Lumia 625 has 0.3 megapixels secondary camera(which is not a very good one) but is better by the fact that there is no front camera in Nokia Lumia 635.

Battery:

Both the smartphones have almost same battery lives. Lumia 625 has 200mAh battery which has 552 hours of standby time. Nokia Lumia 635 has 1830 mAh battery capable of 648 hours of standby time.

Operating System;

The biggest difference in both the smartphones is their operating systems. Nokia Lumia 625  runs on Windows 8 while Nokia Lumia 635 will run on Windows 8.1 It will be the first ever smartphone having Windows 8.1 as its operating system. However, Microsoft has already announced that window 8.1 update will be coming to Window 8 smartphones, so Nokia Lumia 625 will get it too.
